Google AdSense income report April 2020

Like expected this was not a good month. The lowest in a long time. Adsense income for April 2020:

€ 1.116,62

My guess was anything between €1.000,00 and €1.500,00 for the month of April. The month May doesn’t look good either, even worse… my expectations for this month are between €600,00 – €900,00.

The coronacrisis is slowing down a bit tho, and we might see businesses open up again this month. Travel will not be one of them I guess, so my niche is still in big trouble… Will see how this plays out.

Meanwhile I did start a new site tho also in travel, more on that later. Bought a domain for it at €1.500,00 which is a perfect match.

The suitcase site did € 16,50 last month while in February before the coronacrisis it did €250,00. The rankings are still there tho so I hope it will come back later this year (or next year !?!?!).

Stay safe everyone!

  1. Encouraging post, Thanks for sharing!
Many niches are affected by the coronacrisis, I hope things go back.
Is this the income of one site or more?
Which site you are using to buy websites?
I am still waiting for your course (paid or free)
All the best and stay safe!

    1. Thanks for your comment Benmiloud! Yes indeed, almost every niche is affected.

This income is for 2 main sites and around 3 smaller ones (for adsense)

I use a dutch small forum where sometimes these sites come up for sale…

The course, yea… I still need to finish that, will take some time and not really focussing on that at the moment. Working hard to get things running again and hopefully once this crisis is over and money is coming in again I can finish the course 🙂

      How are you doing Benmiloud?

      1. Awesome, I wish you the best !

For me, I am in the in the phase of learning and failing . I have a website with low quality articles that I would like to polish it, it is very competitive niche (http://hiking-camping.com/), I may use it for Adsence and Amazon affiliates, Is there a chance for it to survive or I should just give up.

I have purchased many courses and books with different business models and skills, + around 5 domain names and hosting. I am looking for earning my first 1 euro, after things will become easier, I assume.

        1. Nice site you set up Benmiloud! Looking good and damn lengthy articles. Nice one.

Ofcourse there is a chance for survival. The hiking and camping niche is a big one. But I don’t think its an easy one though.

How are you planning to monetize the site? Already getting some organic traffic?

Stop buying courses and books, learn from blogs. Most ebooks are just a bundle of the writers blog really. Yes, the first money to be made online is the hardest. You can see that in my first months from this blog 🙂

  2. Many Thanks!

I have zero traffic as it is a brand new website. I would like to remove all posts then try to polish them and post them once or twice per week, or just polish them. To be honest, I may just sell it despite the fact that it is useless without traffic.

For monetization, I may start with Adsence and Amazon affiliates. Some articles can be used to direct visitors to a review article with affiliates.

Yes, I agree the hardest part is to get your first money. Believe it or not I finished reading your posts in one night. It is encouraging and very interesting to live with someone’s success.

    1. Selling without traffic is not going to bring you a lot… I would keep it and keep the posts online, polish them up and publish them on the date you polished them up 🙂 That way you keep the exact post online, google will see its updated, might work better then delete everything and post them once or twice a week.

Yea Adsense in combination with amazon is good. I tried amazon at a new site as well, but they kicked me out as I didn’t had a sale in the first 3 months (weird rule). I would just apply for adsense if I were you and put it up!

In 1 night, damn, luckily most are short posts haha

  3. Hello, is the new Google update affecting you? Do your websites continue with normal traffic? How much has the decrease in your RPM, CPC?

I am also being affected with the fall of almost 80% of income, with figures a little below yours.

    Thank you

    1. Hi Diego,

The new Google update is not really affecting me (i think). The rankings are still pretty much the same as last month. Maybe it isn’t rolled out yet in NL, not sure.

Are you sure it is because of the Google update? You lost rankings? Not the corona crisis?
80% damn, that is a lot!

Weird times, I think my loss is due to the coronavirus but not sure anymore, my CPM is 50% of what it was… CPC about the same (little less).

      1. Hi Nomar, the google update is really affecting me, I have lost positions.

Now, the drop in income at Adsense I think is due to the coronacrisis, because before I had similar traffic with good earnings on Adsense. May is on the ground, my RPM is only $ 1USD.

I am investigating that it is not another cause, but it must be the covid.19 that is damaging everything.

        1. Damn, that really sucks. Both positions & covid 19.

I really hope you recover those rankings. I heard the google update is still on going and positions are still changing.

Also RPM is expected to go up again after covid 19 right?? I would think it would at least recover a bit. Not sure, we have to wait and see what will happen.
